GU67 Set to Launch One Week Early on July 23 [EverQuest II]

Game Update 67: Darkness Dawns, has been shifted to launch one week earlier, now on July 23. This change was just announced on the EverQuest II forums by Holly"Windstalker"Longdale. There is still no ETA on the update hitting the Test server. UPDATE : Holly had this to say about the update hitting Test: "We will be updating Test this coming Monday [July 8]! The new AA build window will be on Test as well as the other GU67 content." To all beloved Norrathians! We are happy to announce that we are almost ready with GU67: Darkness Dawns, so much so that we decided to launch a week early on Tuesday, July 23! We also thought this would give everyone a chance to play the content before SOE Live (soe.com/soelive) on August 1-4! Not only that, but the once-mentioned Loyalty/Rewards program we were working on earlier in the year is finally where we want it. We expect to be launching that with GU67 if not very soon afterward. EverQuest and EverQuest II Updates Imminent [EverQuest]

As excited as we all are for EverQuest Next here at ZAM--seriously, there's frothing--hundreds of thousands of players are still adventuring through the current incarnations of Norrath. And SOE has plenty in store for them. In EverQuest II , Darkness Dawns will be arriving in late July and promises to begin a huge storyline that will leave the world of EQII irrevocably changed. The relic uncovered in Scars of the Awakened holds power that will change the course of Norrath's future, with players taking a central role in the story as it unfolds. The update will also bring new, high-level incarnations of favorite zones through Fabled Dungeons from the first EQII expansion, Desert of Flames , holding high level loot to tempt the plucky adventurer. SOE Live Panel Lineup is Posted! [EverQuest II]

This afternoon SOE released the lineup of panels for SOE Live . The lineup has developer and player panels, including the long-awaited EverQuest Next . No descriptions are available for the panels yet, but attendees can expect a jam-packed weekend of events. Check out the full schedule here! * Those interested in EverQuest Next should make sure to attend the unveiling of the game during the Friday, August 2 morning keynote address. This takes place from 11am-1pm in the celebrity ballroom of the host hotel, Planet Hollywood. Several EverQuest Next panels are peppered throughout the day on Friday, Saturday, and even one on Sunday. ZAM's own Cyliena is running a panel, EQII: Hardcore Decorating , scheduled for 3-4pm on Saturday, August 3. If you're attending be sure to swing by and say hello! * Panel lineup may be modified at SOE's discretion at any point.

The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

Tomorrow is the beginning of July, bringing us the Gorowyn City Festival ! The festival is planned to start on July 1st at 12:01am PDT and run until July 7th at 11:59pm PDT and can be found around the Timorous Deep Docks. Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Gorowyn during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 244 seconds or less to earn the Wind Warden prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the docks.

Most US EverQuest 2 Servers will come down on Tuesday, June 25, at 7:00 am Pacific Time for an update. The expected downtime is one hour. The Guk , Everfrost , Crushbone , Permafrost and Oasis servers will have an extended downtime, coming down earlier at 5:30 am Pacific Time. UPDATE 6/25 : All U.S. servers went down at 5:30am PDT; no official reason why this occurred yet. The EU EQ2 Servers will come down on Tuesday, June 25, at 9:00 pm Pacific Time , and the expected downtime is two hours. The full patch notes are below. All U.S. servers will come down at 7:00 am Pacific Time on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Estimated downtime is one hour. The EU servers will come down on Thursday, June 27, at 9:00 pm Pacific Time. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Siren's Grotto: Dissension [Raid] Overlord Talan’s doppelganger will no longer attack instantly when it is summoned and will delay casting spells for a short duration. The combine elite adds summoned by Overlord Talan memwipe less frequently and are now immune to area of effect abilities unless directly targeted. ITEMS Dulgur Bindmagic now sells armor runes that reduce the resistibility of all spells. The cost of red and yellow adornments sold by Dulgur Bindmagic have been reduced.

SOE Live - Quest Themes and Times Announced [EverQuest II]

Each year SOE Live (formerly Fan Faire) features"live quests"for attendees to take part in. These quests typically run two hours and involve teamwork, roleplay, trivia, ingenuity, and lots of fun. Expect to do crazy things such as be guided through a maze blindfolded, roleplay an orc doing grunt work, answer a crossword puzzle about your beloved game, or say"Mithaniel Marr"with six or more jumbo-sized marshmallows in your mouth (yes Kander, I still haven't forgotten that day!) . The themes change each year, as do the tasks in the quests. The tasks will be revealed when the quest commences, but SOE announced the various times and themes earlier today. Sony Online Entertainment has announced maintenance beginning at 7:00 AM Pacific on June 18, 2013. This will impact the following services: Account management will be unavailable for 30 minutes. Commerce transactions, including purchases on our websites and in-game marketplaces, will fail until 7:30 AM Pacific Time. Pay Pal and SMS Transactions will fail until 9 AM Pacific Time. Login for all SOE forums may be affected. You may lose permissions and experience occasional disconnects from 7 AM Pacific until 9 AM Pacific. Login for all SOE games may be affected from 7 AM Pacific until 9 AM Pacific. Players who are already logged into game may be disconnected and unable to log back in until 9 AM PDT.
