The Kelethin City Festival makes a return! It will run from August 1st at 12:01am PDT through August 7th at 11:59pm PDT. The Far Seas Caravan can be found in Greater Faydark on the Green Knoll. Visit the caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods , and check out the Greater Faydark Aether Race !

Here are the patch notes for Friday, July 26, 2013: CHARACTER ACHIEVEMENT TEMPLATES Gold Rush should reapply correctly after committing an AA profile. DAILY OBJECTIVE SYSTEM The Bag of Platinum has been added back to the merchant. MERCENARIES During a readycheck, if a player is not ready their mercenary will not be included in the not ready list of a ready check. TRADESKILLS Corrected an issue that would occasionally prevent a contested avatar from dropping a tradeskill component. ITEMS Abyssal and Planar Cognizance temporary adornments now grant potency instead of crit bonus. Yellow adornments from Clefts of Rujark can now be traded.

All US servers will come down on Thursday, July 25, at 7:00AM Pacific Time for an update. The expected downtime is one hour. The EU EQ2 Servers will come down on Thursday, July 25, at 9:00 pm Pacific Time, and the expected downtime is two hours. You'll find the patch notes below. GENERAL If the quest helper is toggled off, completing your Daily Objectives will no longer toggle it back on. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Fabled Clefts of Rujark Corrected an issue that prevented the base population in The Fabled Clefts of Rujark from dropping loot. ITEMS The Fabled Battleborn Bracers can no longer be equipped by scouts. Armbands of the Northlands once again go in the appearance shoulder slot and provide an alternative appearance to the Shoulderpads of the North. The Battle Bred Meatbeast can now be converted back into a mount from its plushie form.

Darkness Dawns , the next free content update for EverQuest II , went live today. This update concludes the Chains of Eternity expansion that launched last year as well as ending the story of Velious that started years ago. Picking up from the Scars of the Awakened update that launched earlier this year with the uncovering of a powerful relic, Darkness Dawns will lead players on a new quest that promises to turn the world on its head. In addition to this new quest that will give players the opportunity to shape the story's direction, players will also see some big new features! Fabled Dungeons --High-level versions of old favorites from the Desert of the Flames expansion return with current high-level loot. Poets Palace: Return The ring event on the 4th floor of the zone is now fixed. All NPC encounters on that floor should now spawn as intended.
