EverQuest II's lastest game update, Scars of the Awakened , is right around the corner with new content for Norrathian crafters! Be sure to take your artisan to Cobalt Scar where Acting Supplymaster Grant could use a hand. Along the way you'll help the Othmir, save the day at the main camp, and help a mysterious dark elf. Your reward is a nifty set of gloves handed down the Bayle line. Check out our Cobalt Scar Crafting Series guide and the shopping list so you're not shy on resources. Level 95 crafters will find that their Apprentices have some new ideas and need new equipment to get the job done. The new researched recipes will use Tier 10 resources and are set up so that while they require more reactants, those reactants aren't as hard to come by as they are in the level 80 recipes. Game Update 66 , Scars of the Awakened , launches on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. In this update players visit the vastly changed Velious land of Cobalt Scar and its dungeon, Siren's Grotto . Adventurers over level 90 can speak to Joren Kalth in any major city or on the Thurgadin docks in the Great Divide to be sent on their way to Cobalt Scar. Players once again work with Osh, who is trying to save his brethern from a corruption that has twisted their native land. After the othmir problem is addressed, the famed Field Marshal Vishra sends word, and the work to assist the New Combine with their various minor issues begins. Cobalt Scar offers players 45 new quests, four daily missions, and one weekly group mission . Missions will send players who have completed most of the Cobalt Scar quests into Siren's Grotto, but access to Siren's Grotto itself has no requirements. Sony Online Entertainment will perform maintenance beginning at 7:00 AM Pacific on April 30, 2013. This maintenance is expected to take approximately 1 hour. This will impact the following services: Account management will be unavailable. Commerce transactions, including purchases on SOE websites and in-game marketplaces will be unavailable. Login for all SOE forums will be affected. Players who are already logged in may be disconnected and unable to log back in starting at 7:00 AM to approximately 8:00 AM PDT. Login for all SOE games may be affected during the maintenance. Login for Free Realms and Clone Wars Adventures will be unavailable.

The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

Tomorrow is the beginning of May, bringing us the Freeport City Festival ! The festival is planned to start on May 1st at 12:01am PDT and run until May 7th at 11:59pm PST. You can find the Far Seas Caravan in the Commonlands between the Crossroads and the Freeport Griffon Tower. Sanya Farshore, the General Goods merchant, is proud to continue featuring Bags of Teleportation Pads in her inventory. They cost 20 City Tokens, with each bag holding two Teleportation Pads . Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Commonlands during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 119 seconds or less to earn the Portal Jumper prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee near the docks.

The monthly live event Moonlight Enchantments starts tonight! It is scheduled to turn on April 20th at 12:01am PDT and run until 11:59pm PDT on April 21st. The time applies directly with no conversion to all servers. Check out our Moonlight Enchantments guide and peek at the rewards ! Nathan"Kaitheel"McCall has provided an update on art changes that will be coming to the Watery Tile , which was first released last month. The water tile (without sparkles& cloudiness) will be coming with GU66"Scars of the Awakened." This means that the water tiles will automatically have their art updated at that time. The sparkly water tile (water tile with sparkles) will be available on 5/20, the first Moonlight Enchantment celebration following GU66. ~Kaitheel

US EQ2 Servers will come down on Tuesday, April 16, at 7:00 am Pacific Time for an update. The expected downtime for US servers is one hour. The EU servers will come down at 9:00 pm Pacific Time; the expected downtime for EU servers is 2 hours. Here's the patch notes: POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Harrow's End [Raid] Drinal should no longer have a chance to cast more than one curse on the raid force at the same time. Drinal should no longer drop hate on targets in the first half of his encounter. Spiritual Exhaustion should no longer hit the entire raid 4 times. Instead the person in group that has to react will affect only their specific group with the damage. This damage has been made unable to be AE blocked. Concussive Mindmeld can no longer be AE blocked. Drinal should no longer occasionally cast spells on dead players.
