Player Event: Ribbitribbit Day (Guk Server) [EverQuest II]

Almost one year ago players from all over the EverQuest II community got together to build a special playground for a young child who had terminal cancer. Today ( Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1pm Eastern on the Guk server ) is a day to celebrate the memory of Ribbitribbit as well as the community who invested so much into making his day special. Here is the text from the player event posting : Last year on March 10, and in the week before that date, Norrathians made gaming history. Over 600 unique accounts came together from servers across Norrath for one purpose. To give a very special little Froglok some wonderful playgrounds and a very special party in his honor. For those of you who weren't involved, we started a guild and leveled it to 70 for a t3 guild hall in less than 70 hours. We not only decorated Ribbitribbitt's TT island retreat but 3 other prestige houses were donated and the t3 hall still looks spectacular. The US Servers will come down on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 7:00 am Pacific for an update. The expected downtime is one hour. The EU servers will come down on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 5:00 am London. The expected downtime is two hours. Patch notes are available below. Starting at 12:01 pm (noon) Pacific on Friday, February 22, 2013, and lasting until 11:59pm Pacific on Sunday, February 24, 2013, we’re offering Double Experience in EverQuest II! Take advantage of this limited time offer and watch those XP bars fill up! When asked, Dexella told us that the double XP includes all forms of XP except Guild experience.

The EU servers will come down on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 5:00 am London Time. The expected downtime is two hours. The full patch notes are available after the jump. GENERAL Fixed an issue where NPC death animations would not play correctly. POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Harrow's End Fixed an issue that was caused by players reviving before the encounter tried to teleport them out of the room. Drinal should now teleport players who are far away from him when he begins his fight instead of teleporting players after the encounter resets. Befallen: Cavern of the Afflicted and Royal Palace of Erudin Respawning NPCs in these zones will no longer give out XP, treasure loot, or corpse loot. Today Holly"Windstalker"Longdale , EverQuest II Producer, published a letter laying out the EverQuest II plan for the beginning of 2013. It starts with a game update on February 26, which will bring a new group dungeon and a raid version of Dreadcutter. Also discussed are a loyalty program which will build great rewards into a new objectives system, significant updates to PvP, and Game Update 66 in the spring. Our congratulations to Kyle"Kander"Vallee and Nathan" Kaitheel"McCall , who were promoted to EQII Lead Designer and Assistant Lead Designer, repectively. It's official! Sony Online Entertainment has announced SOE Live . As we reported last week when a banner accidently went live on the SOE Live site, the annual celebration of all SOE Games wiill be August 1 - 4, 2013, at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. In celebration of the Goddess of Love and the Hunt, the Sisterhood of Erollisi, along with Aaronolis Swornlove, will be seeking assistance in New Halas throughout Erollisi Day . Dalron Pinot and his cheesy love lines makes a return while Diana Heartstrings and David Torchsong are hopeful that some adventurers will help them play matchmaker. The Hearts a'Flutter contests in Antonica and the Commonlands have had a new grand prize added. Some fun new achievements have been added this year. Craft, quest, or romance others as you complete them! Creatures around Norrath will be dropping hard candies and love notes again, which can be used in crafting, consolidated into a single type, or exchanged for event currency. SOE Live in August! [General News]

While there has not yet been a formal announcement, today astute Facebook users noticed that the banner on the SOE Live webpage had been updated with a 2013 date and location. It looks like the event will run from August 1 - 4 at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. SOE Live is Sony Online Entertainment's annual convention, formerly known as Fan Faire. We will post an update as soon as there is a formal announcement, but that looks pretty official! You can also keep an eye on our SOE Live wiki article for updates.
