New Forums Coming Soon for EverQuest II! [EverQuest II]

SOE has been transitioning their official game forums to new software, and next on the slate is EverQuest II. When this change occurs on November 9, 2012 , the old forums will become locked and read-only for a limited period of time. Players will need to re-register on the new forums. SOE will not be transferring any of the old forum posts over, but we have word that Feldon at EQ2Wire has been working on backing up every post over there. We'll keep you updated once he makes his backup available! The full announcement is available after the jump. As you may have heard through the grapevine, EverQuest II is getting new forums. The U.S. servers will come down on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 7:00 am Pacific for a hotfix. EU servers will come down on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 5:00 am London Time. The expected downtime for both US and EU servers is one hour. Here's our Time Zone Conversion Tool to help you plan. Patch notes are available after the jump. ZONE PROGRESSION / POPULATION Current Raid Zones Due to an exploit, raid zones now have a hard 2.8 day [ 2 days 20 hours] lockout timer. Timers will expire naturally and are no longer able to be reset. This will include all Velious and future Raid zones. Plane of War is now a hard 4.8 day [4 days 20 hours] lockout timer. PSS1: No Forced Migration for Current Customers [EverQuest II]

A short time ago, SOE President John Smedley announced on Twitter that current EU players will not be forced over to ProSiebenSat.1 and will keep their SOE accounts. After the games are officially launched by ProSieben, new EU accounts will still have to be created on PSS1's sites. Here is his full announcement: Wanted to thank our players for continuing feedback. We've been listening along with our European partners at Prosieben. We've found a way to let existing players of our current games that are migrating over to Prosieben (EQ, EQ II, Planetside 2) keep their SOE accounts and stay with SOE. Down the road we may offer an option to move over to Prosieben. Just to be clear after these games launch on Prosieben's service new accounts will be created on their sites. However all US and EU players can still play together no matter which service they are on. I want to be clear that Prosieben will have better European CS and payment options IMO. Nights of the Dead Returns to Norrath [EverQuest II]

Scheduled to start on Thursday October 11, ghouls and goblins can be seen creeping around the city streets in Norrath as Nights of the Dead returns once again. Put on your favorite costume or illusion and join in the festivities! Familiar faces from years past have returned with their seasonal quests and treats. There are six new quest rewards, new goodies on the Nights of the Dead Merchants as well as an updated version of last year's Devotee challenge. Crafters will be pleased to hear that the new Celebrations of the Dead V scroll offers 22 new recipes! Players wanting to consolidate their candy into one type can use the candy exchange Gigglegibber, who can be found in all player cities. The old Trick-or-Treat game has been retired this year, replaced by a Ghost Hunter Competition with Commonland and Antonica versions.
