Qho's Holiday Adventures! [EverQuest II]

Qho Augren has made a permanent impression upon many of being the brattiest child that Norrath has ever seen. Hailing from the Village of Shin, he nagged us time and time again to bring him back a multitude of harvests whenever we returned to him. The most recent Gathering Obsession quest had a unique twist however: Qho became a pet that follows us around! I'm sure many people had fun jumping off of cliffs or battling the nastiest of beasts with him in tow, but I saw the opportunity to teach Qho more about harvesting... and the world beyond. Qho has now visited a wide variety of places with me, posed for many pictures and even provided a point of amusement as unsuspecting players on my server have hailed my Qho pet over and over, likely wondering why he didn't give them a quest. I've had Qho as a pet since March 2011 and have taken him out for several unique adventures in that time. All U.S. servers will come down on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 7am PST for a hotfix. The expected downtime is one hour. EU servers will have their update at 5am London Time on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Estimated downtime is two hours. Continue after the jump for the full patch notes. GENERAL Fixed a placement issue with certain moveable objects (for instance, the portals will now place properly during the Zynos fight in Anchor of Bazzul). ACHIEVEMENTS Characters who have completed“Your Eternal Reward” should now receive the“Agent of Freeport” achievement. MERCENARIES Shaman mercenaries should no longer continue to think they are in combat when it comes to casting wards on their group. They will still cast their out of combat preward spells. The city of Gorowyn was abuzz with excitement this month as the Far Seas Caravan arrived at its docks to begin the city festival. The Flying Freebooters have joined the festivities and the Aether Racing course is once again available this month. The Aether Race and City Festival run concurrently and both end at 11:59pm PST on January 7th. On the 20th of this month, the phases of the moon will once again be aligned, revealing the secret grottos. Moonlight Enchantments will begin at 12:01am PST on January 20th and will conclude at 11:59pm PST on January 21st. No new items are expected to be on the grotto merchants. Since childhood, Aaronolis and Annalisa Swornlove have been drawn to Erollisi Marr, the goddess of Love and the Hunt. After the death of Erollisi, the siblings were heartbroken. Players will now receive achievement credit for earning hall of fame status if they are offline when awards are processed. ACHIEVEMENTS Sense of Urgency: Debone Bonewing should correctly update when defeating the zone boss in under 30 minutes from zone in. DUNGEON MAKER Dungeon Maker creatures will no longer temporarily reappear when defeated while under the effect of a tier-adjusting object. The City Festival Starts Tonight! [EverQuest II]

Tomorrow rings in the new year and brings us the Gorowyn City Festival ! The festival is planned to start on January 1st at 12:01am PST and run until January 7th at 11:59pm PST. The Far Seas Caravan can be found inside the Timorous Maw while the quest giver, Kella Swampfoot, will be on the docks of Faydedar Watch. There are no new items at the festival this month. Visit the Far Seas caravan merchants to see all of the local specialities and other festival goods . An Aether Race will also be available in Timorous Deep during the festival. Participate and achieve a time of 244 seconds or less to earn the Wind Warden prefix title! Begin the race by speaking to the referee on the docks.

Vox to Nagafen Merge is Complete! [EverQuest II]

UPDATE 2:49pm PST : The newly merged Nagafen server is back online. SOE just announced , "The Vox to Nagafen server transfer is complete! We've greatly appreciated your patience during this downtime." . If you have any issues stemming from this merger you are urged to contact Customer Support . The server merge of Vox into the Nagafen server should now be underway. Its scheduled start time was 5am PST and is expected to take approximately 24 hours to complete. Antonia Bayle and The Bazaar will experience a temporary outage of their chat channels and in-game mail during the merge. During the downtime you are welcome to join us in the #EQ2 channel of ZAM's IRC chat . Feldon of EQ2Wire also has set up a ZAM IRC java applet that you can use.
