All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PDT on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. The expected downtime is one hour. EU servers will have their hotfix at 5am BST on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Estimated downtime is two hours. The full patch notes are available after the jump. DUNGEON FINDER Dungeons are now broken into categories. If a player declines a DF offer, they must wait 15 minutes before they can queue again. The dungeon finder will now give an indication of how many players of each archetype are queued for each dungeon. Any member of the group can now set group options, but everyone in the group must vote on the changes before they apply. LIVE EVENTS Nights of the Dead The headless Horseman should once again be patrolling Nektulos Forest. Closed Beta registration for" Age of Discovery "is now open! Applications are available at this link . Beta testing is vital to ensure a great product launch. We appreciate your participation and welcome any and all feedback. Applications will be reviewed starting on October 27th. Beta acceptance emails will go out between October 27th and November 16th. Closed Beta will close on November 14th. To be eligible to participate in the Age of Discovery Beta test, players must have an active EQII subscription in good standing and accept the Terms of Use, End User License Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement provided at the registration site. If you attended Fan Faire 2011 you will be admitted into the Beta program. However you must still register and accept the NDA . Sony Detects Unauthorized Sign-In Attempts [General News]

Following the recent hacker attack that kept Sony Online Entertainment offline for two weeks in May, Sony has"detected a large amount of unauthorized sign-in attempts on PlayStation Network (PSN), Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) services."The activity occurred between October 7-10 and was an attempt to validate account information that was apparently stolen from other sources. Credit card numbers associated with these accounts are not at risk. Here are the main details from Sony's press release : "Less than one tenth of one percent of our PSN, SEN and SOE consumers may have been affected. There were approximately 93,000 accounts (PSN/SEN: approximately 60,000 accounts; SOE: approximately 33,000) where the attempts succeeded in verifying those accounts’ valid sign-in IDs and passwords, and we have temporarily locked these accounts. Starting at 12:01am PDT on Thursday, October 13, ghouls and goblins can be seen creeping around the city streets in Norrath as Nights of the Dead returns once again. Put on your favorite costume or illusion and join in the festivities with your fellow players! Familiar faces from years past have returned offering their quests, games and wares. Repeatable quests from prior years now have a new reward choice along with a couple of bonus plushies in the original Haunted House. New this year is a Flora vs. Undead themed quest as well as an updated version of last year's Devotee challenge. Crafters will be pleased to hear that the new Celebrations of the Dead IV scroll offers 19 additional recipes that are sure to make your home scream in delight. Players wanting to consolidate their candy into one type can use the candy exchange Gigglegibber, who can be found in all player cities. The Beastlord Prelude Continues! [EverQuest II]

Beastlords disappeared from Norrath as the Truespirit, powerful spirit guides, retreated along with the gods. Since the Age of Cataclysm, their power has been slowly re-entering the world, but their very existence was in danger from a corruption called the Blight. In the first half of the Beastlord Prelude event adventurers assisted the wise spirits Ilfanul and Ravinus with eliminating the Blight through a ritual cleansing. The Truespirit calls forth those brave adventurers again to further assist with the Third Awakening of the Beastlords. Harbingers of this Awakening will test whether or not these people are are worthy of introducing the teachings of the Bonding rituals between Beastlord and Warder to Norrath. Here are the patch notes: DUNGEON FINDER You will no longer lose infamy when joining a dungeon finder group. The dungeon Cauldron Hollow should now be listed as a 30-40 dungeon instead of 30-45.
