SOE: Personal Information May Have Been Stolen [General News]  from ZAM News (full) 
As we previously reported , all Sony Online Entertainment services, games, forums and web sites went offline this morning as a result of the recent Playstation Network intrusion. SOE just issued an announcement , and it appears that the personal information of players may have been compromised. Here are the details straight from SOE: "Our ongoing investigation of illegal intrusions into Sony Online Entertainment systems has discovered that hackers may have obtained personal customer information from SOE systems.  We are today advising you that the personal information you provided us in connection with your SOE account may have been stolen in a cyber-attack. Stolen information includes, to the extent you provided it to us, the following: name, address (city, state, zip, country), email address, gender, birthdate, phone number, login name and hashed password." UPDATE, May 4: SOE has answered some common questions about the attack . UPDATE, 6:41 p.m. PDT, May 3: SOE spokewoman Taina Rodriguez told The San Diego Union-Tribune that the network will be shut down until Friday and possibly longer. UPDATE, 6:15 p.m. PDT, May 3: SOE posted on Facebook ," We continue to work on the issues as fast as we can, but unfortunately the servers will not come up today. Thank you for your continued patience; we expect to be back up very soon. " As we previously reported , all Sony Online Entertainment services, games, forums and web sites went offline this morning as a result of the recent Playstation Network intrusion. UPDATE, 9:15 p.m. EDT, May 6 : SOE posted on Facebook ,"We wanted to let you know that our games will not be up this weekend. We are working around the clock to get our services back up and running soon. Thank you for your continued patience and support." While we all wait for the Sony Online Entertainment services to come back online following an attack on the network , SOE posted a brief FAQ today to keep players updated on the situation. While they don't provide any new details, SOE has said it will continue to post updates to the site with new information as it becomes available.  According to the FAQ , some games and services are expected to be up and running"soon."SOE emphasizes that the services will only be restored once the network is secure. Sony Online Entertainment just posted the following on Facebook : "We wanted to let you know that our games will not be up this weekend. We are working around the clock to get our services back up and running soon. Thank you for your continued patience and support." Multiple House Ownership Hits Live Servers [EverQuest II]  from ZAM News (full) 
Decorators, rejoice! Today's update brings multiple house ownership to all Live servers. Currently a limit of ten homes per character is in place, though that limit may be relaxed later on. Many changes go into place today, including another revamp of the character window. Each player will now have six house vault slots, which are shared among all of his/her homes and will in turn give access to all six broker slots. Players with a guild hall that has the Portal to Member Housing amenity can now choose to go to any house they have Friend+ access. Owners of prestige houses can place portal objects to link that home to any house to which they have trustee access. All of these changes and more are updated in our Player Housing Guide !
Hotfix - April 29, 2011 [EverQuest II]  from ZAM News (full) 
All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PDT on Friday, April 29, 2011. The expected downtime is one hour. The Splitpaw server will have its hotfix at 5am London Time on Saturday, April 30, 2011. Estimated downtime is 2 hours. Here are the patch notes: HOUSING Prestige Home deeds are now Heirloom. Roundtable Q&A: Dave Georgeson Discusses GU60 [EverQuest II]  from ZAM News (full) 
We recently had the chance to participate in a roundtable interview with EverQuest II Executive Producer Dave Georgeson to discuss“The Children of War” Game Update 60 that's scheduled to launch on May 17 . This is the first update in the Age's End Prophecy saga, which was introduced in the Destiny of Velious expansion. Of course, we also asked some general EverQuest II questions that touch on various aspects of the game's future. Georgeson explains that the bulk of GU60 focuses on PvP and battlegrounds. He gives details on the update's new battleground map and game type, as well as a new lobby system. He also confirms that there will be a new expansion next year that has nothing to do with Velious, and he hints that players will soon be able to enjoy some new transport mechanisms at levels 30 and 60. All day Saturday, April 30, EverQuest II players can enjoy double adventuring, alternate advancement and tradeskill experience. In addition, double Station Cash will be offered as well. This bonus day will run from 12:01am PDT through 11:59pm PDT. Here is what was announced on the EverQuest II site: To thank players for their patience during the recent service interruption, we will be hosting special events this weekend across our game portfolio, including a Double Station Cash day on Saturday, April 30th . EverQuest II and EQ2X will also be holding a Double XP day on Saturday, from 12:01am PDT to 11:59pm PDT. This will affect tradeskill, adventure and AA XP. All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PDT on Thursday, April 28, 2011. The Splitpaw server will have its also have its hotfix the same day at 3pm London Time. The expected downtime for all affected servers is three hours. We'll post the patch notes as soon as they are available.
