UPDATE 9:50am PDT: The patcher issues are fixed and everyone should be able to login now! UPDATE 9am PDT: Login servers are currently rejecting logins with no ETA. The issue is being looked into . All U.S. servers will come down at 7am PDT on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Estimated downtime is one hour. Here are the patch notes: QUESTS Players who have completed the quest"The Fallen Swords: All Roads Lead To..."should check their mailboxes for a letter from the Duality himself. Another chapter in the Age's End saga is about to unfold, and he will be looking for help. Seek him out in Thurgadin once more. SOE has announced maintenance in preparation for EverQuest's transition to free-to-play . Maintenance will begin at 12:01 AM Pacific on March 15, 2012, impacting the following services: Voice Chat will be unavailable for EverQuest II Players from 7:00 AM to approximately 9:00 AM Pacific. Account management will be unavailable starting at 12:01 AM to approximately 9:00 AM Pacific. Commerce transactions, including purchases on our websites and in-game marketplaces will be unavailable between 12:01 AM to approximately 9:00 AM Pacific. Forums will be read-only starting from 12:01 AM to 6:00 AM Pacific. Login for ALL games will be affected from 12:01 AM to 6:00 AM Pacific (players already logged in should not be impacted). TRADESKILLS Several new sets of housing building blocks have been added to existing‘carpenter essentials’ recipe groups. ITEMS The maximum scaling size of all building blocks has been increased. This month the City Festival is hosted by the city of Neriak, featuring several new local specialties such as building blocks and a roof tile. The Aether Race in Darklight Wood will reward the prefix title of Fearless Flyer to players who complete the course in 89 seconds or less. Both events run concurrently and will end at 11:59pm PST on March 7th. Patrons of Norrath's pubs will be heartened to hear that Brewday will be returning! This year features three new quests, several new rewards and ten new craftable items. The Bar of Brell is expected to open its portal around 12:01am PST on March 8th and should remain in business until 11:59pm PDT on March 19th. Later in the month the denizens of the enchanted grottos will welcome assistance from those who seek them out. Players can search for those elusive pieces to their Moonlight collections and earn tokens toward purchasing house items or mounts. EQII Players Rally around Terminal Child [EverQuest II]

On the official EverQuest II Forums a player posted a sad plea: My 6 yr old son has cancer and was recently given 6 - 12 weeks to live. He has a frog that he likes to run around Tenebrous Tangle Island on; however, it is sparse and he has requested to add trees, fences, stairs, animals and all kinds of other items to make his island fun and exciting. Are there any decorators out there that would be willing to assist in adding these items (and any others their imagination poses) to help me make the island even more fun for him. I don't know how much I'll be able to accomplish on my own while still providing him quality time to enjoy it. The EQ2 community has rallied around Ribbitribbitt. A guild has been created and players of all types are grinding status to get him a Tier 3 guild hall by Saturday.
