SOE Relaunches Facebook Giveaways [General News]

Today on the Station Blog SOE announced that they are relaunching their Facebook giveaways. Every Monday check out the new Sweepstakes tab on the SOE Facebook page. Prizes will vary, from game-themed swag to partner giveaways (like Sony and Logitech) and even SOE Live passes. They're kicking it off with ten passes to E3 , the industry-only convention in Los Angeles June 5-7, 2012. As I type this the SOE Sweepstakes tab says there is one day and 13 hours left in the promotion, so hurry and sign up (you'll have to approve an ap to do so)! Restrictions will apply and may vary for each giveaway, so be sure to read the rules. Good luck!

Patch Notes - May 24, 2012 [EverQuest II]

All U.S. servers will be coming down at 7am PDT for an update. Here is the patch note: COMBAT Players can now select their preferred method of autoattacking using the /setautoattackmode command (0 for default, 1 for melee, 2 for spell/ranged) or by the drop-down setting in the Character UI options under‘Auto Attack Mode’.

Rebates will be clearly displayed in game, and the 50% will be immediately refunded to you your Station Wallet. Recurring subscriptions are not eligible for the 50% rebate. ZAM clarification on the"recurring subscription"statement : We have confirmed that SOE's disclaimer means that recurring subscriptions cannot be purchased using a rebate (which they can't be purchased with SC anyways, but are listed in the Marketplace), NOT that recurring subscribers cannot take advantage of the rebate promo.

All U.S. servers will come down at 7am PDT on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. The expected downtime is one hour. The EU servers will be coming down at 5am London Time on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. The expected downtime is two hours. There is also an SOE maintenance scheduled for 6am PDT on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Login servers, forums and more will be affected for around 90 minutes. SOE Launches Facebook Quests [EverQuest]

Sony Online Entertainment has launched Facebook quests for it's EverQuest and EverQuest II communities! Throughout the summer (May– September) there will be monthly quests issued to the EverQuest and EverQuest II communities on Facebook. At the end of each quest players of both games will be rewarded for successfully completed quests, earning in-game rewards for every active member of that game! May's quest is pretty easy: increase Facebook followers for EverQuest or EverQuest II respectively by 1,000. Starting on May 17, 2012 (at 10:00 am PST), we'll record the number of followers for each page. If, by June 17, 2012, your game's Facebook community has achieved the goal of 1,000 additional followers, SOE will award every player who has logged into that game since it went free-to-play with 500 Station Cash ! Holly Longdale, in a post at the EQII website today, goes into detail about new stuff planned for the month . And, in case you're paying attention, almost all of it has to do with the Dungeon Maker feature, detailing future plans. It's not quite ready yet, but it's getting there.
